about us

The journey to guitar repair has not been a direct path for Mark Quenzer. Starting his musical career as a drummer and expanding in to audio production, this appeared to be the final destination. However, with the launch of his retail music store, Lunar Music Supply, the need for understanding guitar care, maintenance, and repair seemed to be inevitable. Refusing to sacrifice quality of craftsmanship, Quenzer left Oklahoma and began his studies with John LeVan of Guitar Services Workshop in Nashville, TN in February, 2017.

What started as way to ensure all guitars were properly setup in his store, quickly turned into a passion and unrealized potential for making guitarists fall in love with their instruments again. After 20 months of setup and fret work, Mark wanted to offer every option of repair and even acoustic guitar restoration. With this determination, he left Oklahoma once again to spend another month in Nashville learning Advanced Guitar Repair and Restoration from LeVan for a cumulative 185 hours of in-depth guitar repair.

Our Services

Expert Setup

The Expert Setup will make you love your guitar again. With time, use, and climate instability, your guitar will eventually lack the playability it once had. This is where we come in. The Expert Setup will include adjustments to the neck, setting string action, dialing in intonation, proper pickup height, and cleaning/lubricating all electronics. Along with playability, we make sure your instrument looks great too. We will clean and hydrate the fingerboard and surface clean the entire body.

This service is ideal for new guitars and guitars that have been regularly maintained.

Dress & Set

You’ve probably seen and felt the effects of fret wear. When frets begin to pit, it can cause issues with playability and introduce buzzing. Neither of these are ideal. The Dress & Set will include all of the meticulous care of the Expert Setup while adding a precision leveling, re-crowning, polishing, and dressing to all frets. You’ll remember why this was your go-to guitar.

This service is ideal for guitars with heavy use or have not been serviced in over a year.

Pickup install

You picked up some new pickups, nice! But now you want to make sure they do what they’re suppose to do, understandable. From straight forward pickup swaps, to custom wiring and features, we can make sure you’re getting the sound you want. But who says electrics get to have all the fun? We also specialize in acoustic guitar pickup install! From a single pickup to multi-systems, you can rest easy knowing you will get what you need.

This service is for anyone wanting to add or replace electric or acoustic guitar pickups.

full refret

Inevitability, the time may come where your guitar is in need of new frets. Fortunately, you’re in good hands! A full refretting service will include a precision leveling of the fingerboard, accurately cut and radiused nickel, stainless, or EVO frets, hand-hammered installation of frets and a full Dress & Set.

Essential for guitars with extensive fret-wear and/or damaged frets.

Neck reset

As your acoustic guitar ages, the possibility of the neck angle going askew grows. With set-neck acoustic guitars, the process of removing, shimming, and re-setting the neck for accurate playability is as tedious of a job as you would think. Every attention to detail will be taken to assure an accurate and dependable repair.

Please Note: Neck resets will be done on a case-by-case basis only, as not every acoustic guitar is a candidate for this service.

Hand-Carved bone nuts & Bridge saddles

“Tone is in the bone”. As cheesy as it sounds, it’s not false. The benefits of adding a bone string nut or bridge saddle to your guitar is an easy way to get the best sound out of your guitar. This is an in-depth, precision process that takes string spacing, 1st fret action, and compensation into consideration for perfect playability, sustain, and intonation. Every bone nut and saddle starts as a blank and is hand-shaped and tailored to each individual guitar.

The perfect upgrade for any guitar.

Acoustic Brdige Repair

Bridge stability is crucial to a well playing acoustic guitar. Many factors can cause a bridge to fail, but what really matters is how it’s repaired. Our approach addresses the root cause of failure to ensure your repaired bridge will last. We address the top of the guitar and the bottom of the saddle to create the perfect contoured fit for your bridge. This painstaking process produces professional results every time.

Essential for acoustic guitars with lifted or completely removed bridges.

Acoustic bridge replace

Needing a new bridge is news you never want to hear, but at least you now you know who to take it to. When replacing a bridge, we take every detail into account. Bridge height, wing height, string spacing, saddle slot depth/width/angle, and of course, proper fit. We prefer to use the same wood species to match your original bridge, but if unavailable, we will select the perfect compliment to your guitar. A truly hand-crafted feature on your guitar.

Essential for broken or incorrectly crafted acoustic guitar bridges.

Acoustic Top, Back, or Side Crack

Even when taking the greatest precautions, accidents still happen. Whether your guitar took a nasty spill or Mother Nature took her toll, we can get you mended and back at it. Cracks and separations can come in all shapes and sizes and each one is addressed and professionally repaired in their own, unique way.

Recommended for solid wood acoustic guitars with cracks and/or separations.

If you need a guitar repaired, Mark is your one-stop shop. He will work tirelessly on making your guitar exactly how you want it. And if something isn’t exactly your preference, he’s happy to work on it until it’s perfect!
